Cortona Chimneys At Sunset
My husband and I visited Italy in May, and we especially enjoyed driving through Tuscany and Umbria and stopping at the many rustic hill towns dotting the regions. Cortona, the setting for Frances Mayes' novel "Under the Tuscan Sun," was one of our favorite stops. The town has classic Tuscan charm, with its rustic buildings painted in the oranges, reds and yellows characteristic of the region. I loved how the setting sun made the buildings like this one glow - it was so warm and inviting. A visit to Cortona is a must for anyone looking for traditional Tuscan beauty.
