Set on the ground floor of a well-established art gallery, this award-winning Italian restaurant is a rare gem in Jamaica. You’ll fall in love with the candlelit and brick setting of this renovated great house, once a spice plantation. Be prepared to dig into your pockets, but it will be worthwhile—the strictly Italian menu, drawn up on two large chalkboards every day, has surprising, creative, and tasty dishes like the penne all' ortolana, a vegetarian pasta with goat cheese and herbs, or the fettuccini florentina, with more fresh seafood pasta specials and of course, desserts like tiramisu or chocolate profiteroles. The menu changes daily and that’s part of Toscanini’s charm, in addition to having a warm staff and passionate owners.
