Cappadocia. Is amazing!! If you are going to Turkey don't miss this area!! There are many cave hotels. Ours was dreamy.
Hi! We are going to Turkey in a about a month and plan to stay in Cappadocia for 2-3 days. Do you recall which cave hotel you stayed in?
I would recommend Esbelli Evi Cave hotel in Ürgüp, Cappadocia. Ürgüp is the next town over from Goreme. We liked it better as it was less touristy, but just amazing. This hotel was amazing with a variety of cave rooms to choose from.
We just returned from Goreme and loved The Kelebek Hotel -- reasonable and amazing buffet breakfast once we emerged from our charming and cosy cave.
I second the Kelebek Hotel. Also, don't miss Ziggy's restaurant in nearby Urgup, and the Setain restaurant in Goreme.
I highly recommend the Koza Cave Hotel in Goreme. It was absolutely beautiful. The hosts were wonderful and it was next door to the Seten restaurant which was fabulous as well.
And while the hot air ballooning is a bit expensive, it was a really wonderful experience. Again I highly recommend that you plan for it on one of your mornings there.
I stayed at Serinn House (right next to the Esbelli Cave Hotel mentioned above -- which looked wonderful) in July and loved it. Charming city (Urgup), hospitable management, iconic furniture and walking distance to Ziggy's, which is consistently listed among Cappadocia's best restaurants. Trip report coming soon.
I heard that it's safer in austin west than east (near I-35). Is that true? Is it safe near: Holiday Inn Austin Town Lake 20 North Ih35? thanks!
