Bucharest
Bucharest is like an elderly woman who refuses to age, but is loosing the battle. Every turn of a corner reveals architectural wonder. The Buildings have as much detail as they do dirt, and the cobble-stone streets as much charm as litter. Nothing like New York City; Bucharest was clearly once a head-turning, seductively gorgeous woman who men surely mused about until they died. Now she is a shadow of her former self, allowing her beauty to crack but never fade. The National, European, and Modern Art Galleries are a sight to behold, because unlike much of the Eastern capital, their exquisite detail has been preserved and looked after. The works inside their walls are equally inspiring; though do not expect to find much in a gift-shop.
