Spending a week in Florence and I've decided to do what the locals do; Salty crackers, soft brie cheese and sweet figs.
Sometimes the simple things are the best
Brie is a french cheese, and even if crackers + brie + figs sounds like a good choice, it's not what we (the locals) would normally eat. You can eat bagels and doughnuts in Florence, but tht doesn't mean it's local food... Try tuscan bread or ciabatta instead of crackers, fresh pecorino cheese or stracchino instead of brie. Usually italians would eat pear with cheese while traditionally in Tuscany you would eat salami with figs.
Thanks Caterina, now I have another reason to come to Florence again and try the great food combinations you mentioned. Thank You!
