Bottle Market
Buenos Aires should be called the 'city of really cool markets.' I don't think there is any item that you cannot find there. And more often than not, you will find just the right item that you didn't even realize you were looking for. I came upon this little stand one afternoon, and was struck by the fact that this vendor sold ONLY this one item. I mean, are colorful seltzer bottles in such high demand that one can devote an entire booth to them? Apparently so, because this place was thriving. Of course, I had found that perfect item that I didn't even know I wanted.

I just spent about three weeks searching for antique bottles to store alcohol in, and this looks to be a perfect set. did you buy any of these for yourself? I am in the process of making a bacon-infused bourbon, and that bottle in the silver shaker second from the left would look mighty good all filled up.
This was near the midpoint of our three week trip. The odds of carrying one of them home intact was very low, so I had to pass. They would indeed be the perfect for homemade libations.
I actually just returned from Buenos Aires the proud owner of a lovely seltzer bottle! The guy at my stall even gave me a sheet containing the history of the company that originally produced the bottle, and the year is printed on the cap (mine was from 1939). i think it would be great for infusing!
Where can i find this market? Would love to buy one for a friend :)
I honestly don't remember where this vendor was located, since I was there a few years ago. However, It appears that Denise could point you in the right direction. And if so, share that info with the rest of us, as I'd like to go back and get one. :)
Denis? :) Could you help me out? Thankk yooouu! :D
yeah, no problem! the market is in the town square of a neighborhood called san telmo (and actually, fans out very far down an avenue called defensa). the market is only held on sundays from 10-4. happy shopping!
Thanks so much denise! Good plan for a recover day :). Peace and love
