Boarding Past Please
For some reason, I have always had a fascination with train stations-especially historic ones. I think the train might be my favorite mode of transportation because they often take you to places remote, but slowly, affording you the time to absorb what you're seeing.
This is a shot of some decommissioned rail cars from the bygone "Big Railroad" era in Canada. They sit next to the iconic "Station Restaurant" in the original Lake Louise rail station in the gorgeous Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies.
The restaurant itself is a must see. It has been beautifully restored and it is saturated with the history of the rail station. It's like eating inside of a museum as they have put the tables right next to exhibits of antique relics salvaged from the train station. It is on the list as one of my favorite restaurant experiences.
