I have always had a fascination with train stations, especially historic ones. The train might be my favorite mode of transportation because it often takes you to places remote—but slowly, affording you the time to absorb what you're seeing.
This is a shot of some decommissioned rail cars from the bygone "Big Railroad" era in Canada. They sit next to the iconic Station Restaurant in the original Lake Louise rail station, in gorgeous Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies.
The restaurant is a must-see. It has been beautifully restored and is saturated in the history of the rail station. It's like eating inside of a museum, as they have put the tables right next to exhibits of antique relics salvaged from the train station.
