12SQM lives up to it's name, as it is only 12 square meters of bar. It is however a great place if you want to drink great bourbon or single malt scotch ( they have one of the most extensive bourbon collections in the city) the atmosphere is cozy and the staff is knowledgeable. They also pour a great Manhattan (40RMB), made with bourbon (the right way), instead of scotch (the wrong and more expensive way) like other bars do. They also offer snacks and Ausie meat pies, and they can order out for Xinjiang (Uiger food, kin of like turkish or Middle Estern) if you ask nicely.
The clientele is almost exclusively Chinese, althoug the staff does speak English. The music is American and British 60s,70s, 80s pop. It is a great place to spend an afternoon, or for a refresher after a shopping trip on Nan Lougu Xiang.
The bar is open from noon to midnight. Beers start at 15RMB and cocktails start at 35RMB.
