If you're looking to whale watch from the comfort of the couch, this is the place to stay. Southern Right Whales visit False Bay every spring, and with a balcony facing the beach, you'll have no trouble spotting them. For me, the best part about the Whale Watcher's self-catering flat was that I could feel at home, even if it was just for a short stay. Security is 24/7 and while the neighborhood is very quiet at night, it's conveniently located near the Muizenberg metrorail line and the catwalk linking Muizenberg to St. James and Kalk Bay.

Knead Bakery, just below the Greens building pictured here, is a great place to pop in and grab a coffee and almond croissant. The restaurant Lucky Fish will soon open next to the surf shops below the Empire building, as business in Muizenberg grows.
