Just west of Vik, we found a gem of a spot in which the owner shuffles around and shares nuggets of history as you explore the nooks and crannies of a place that resembles something between a museum and a stuffed antique shop. Peruse historical artifacts mixed with odd elements, including a fair share of taxidermy of "freaks of animal nature." Behind the museum is a collection of sod homes, school house and church that takes visitors back in time to experience 1890s Icelandic living. Definitely worth a stop.
