The Oakland Museum of California is a great museum located near Oakland's Chinatown. Three galleries feature all things California: art, natural sciences and history. Interactive exhibits are educational and fun for all ages. Wander the museum grounds and you'll see large scale sculptures from the California ceramics movement by pioneering artists as Viola Frey and Stephen de Staebler. Nice gift shop and café as well.
