Visiting the Rann of Kutch or the salt desert is an interesting experience. Staying in a mud hut or tent at Hodka is a lesson in immersion.

Not only do you get traditional home cooked Gujarati food from the local villagers, you also get to visit the local villages and interact with the people.

At night I would sit under the stars on a divan and talk with the locals or listen to some impromptu folk songs near a roaring fire pit.
