A Steampunk Surprise for Anime Fans
It was a magical surprise to come upon the NI-TELE Really BIG Clock at the Nippon Television Tower. This huge mechanical clock designed by Hayao Miyazaki (creator of many anime classics) plays musical, animated shows 5 times daily. It's so entrancing that our family planned our day trips around its schedule. Located amongst the skyscrapers at Sio-Site in Shiodome, it's either retro or even more futuristic, or both.
Big fans of Hayao Miyazaki's—which include My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, and Ponyo among many others—should reserve well in advance for tickets to his Ghibli Museum outside Tokyo.http://www.spiceboxtravels.com
