"It's not really a trail in some places," said the lady at the permit station, "It's more of a path ..."

And by 'path', she actually meant steep slippery rocks, sloping down in places to precarious drops. Don't get me wrong, the short hike through the Tonto Natural Bridge is memorably gorgeous ... just a little stressful with an energetic, stubborn 5 year old.

But we survived, and even made some friends along the way.
