A highlight in Cambodia was the day we spent on Tonle Sap lake. Being a birdwatcher, I dragged my (non-birder) husband with me to do some birding in the floating forests of Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary. In the end, we both had a fantastic time. We went with Osmose, a conservation and community development NGO that runs excursions to the bird sanctuary and nearby floating villages. They provided breakfast and lunch, took us to a water hyacinth-weaving workshop, and organized a paddle boat ride through one of the villages to see crocodile farms and floating gardens. We saw kids rowing to school and coffee boats delivering villagers their morning cuppa. Highly recommended.
