Founded in 2008, the AFAR Foundation sponsors international travel for underserved students through its flagship program, Learning AFAR.
Through participation in Learning AFAR's educational trips, a fire is sparked in the hearts of young people.
Travel moves them out of their comfort zones to a place where they can be inspired, curious and bold.
For kids in California who have never been on a beach, or students in New York who have never touched the Statue of Liberty, the opportunity to travel can change lives.
Whether they're learning about biodiversity in Costa Rica or helping build a school library in Peru, the experiences open their eyes to the fact that they are part of a larger world, and that their actions have an impact.
Help us change more lives!

About the AFAR Foundation
Founded in 2008 as the philanthropic affiliate of AFAR Media, the AFAR Foundation provides experiential travel to youth through its flagship program, Learning AFAR. We aim to build a community of people who believe that travel is the best form of education and provide a platform for people to join us in this work.
The AFAR Foundation does not accept unsolicited financial grant requests. However, we are always open to conversations about how we can creatively support organizations and programs that share our values.
If you are interested in helping us to expand this program, or would like to learn more, please contact our Foundation Officer Jordan Robbins, at 970-484-3633 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Or write to us at:
